No.12 Coastguard Station is a holiday home of unique character, located in a listed historic building and enjoying panoramic views over Lough Foyle towards Benevinagh Mountain. In the nineteenth century this building served as living accommodation for the coast guard and their families and while No.12 has been recently renovated to include all modern conveniences it still retains the character and many of the original features of yesteryear.
To the front of the building the is a large communal lawned area and a short stroll takes you to Moville Harbour with it's small fleet of fishing boats and yachts moored offshore.
The Coastguard Station has 3 bedrooms and can sleep up to 5 in comfort. Two of the bedrooms, both doubles, are located to the front of the building and enjoy panoramic views over Lough Foyle. The bedrooms retain many original features of this notable building, including a cast iron fireplace, contributing to its unique charm.
The Station is a listed historical building and gives a tantalising glimpse of what it was like to live in this beautiful area of Inishowen over 150 years ago.
Some of the local amenities include Golf courses at Greencastle, Redcastle and Ballyliffin, Pitch & Putt, an amusement park at Leisureland, a Maritime Museum and Planetarium at Greencastle. A scenic walkway along the banks of the Foyle allows one to walk from Moville to Greencastle. Several excellent restaurants and pubs with traditional music can also be enjoyed.
A car ferry links Greencastle to Magilligan Point, and a scenic drive around the North Derry and Antrim coast, to famous attractions including the Carrickarede Rope Bridge, The Giants Causeway, Portrush, Dunluce Castle, the Bushmills Distillery and much more.
