Two superb holiday cottages located in beautiful countryside outside Glen village in North Donegal. Peters House is a 400 year old cottage sympathetically renovated and refurbished to 21st century standards of luxury and comfort. Harry’s House is a new cottage built with natural local stone. It has been tastefully built in a traditional style and the end result is a holiday home that oozes charm and character. Each cottage provides superior self catering accommodation for up to six people.
Situated in the village of Glen these two charming cottages offer privacy and tranquillity in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The turf smoke, peaceful walks, wild flowers, rare bird life, majestic sunsets and stunning landscapes are all provided free of charge.
Centrally located on upper Lough Salt, the cottages provide the perfect base from which to discover and explore the breathtaking scenery of this beautiful part of Ireland with its numerous bays, glorious beaches, rugged mountains, rolling hills, superb rivers and loughs.
The village of Glen is situated close to Carrigart on the Rosguill Peninsula. This rugged peninsula projects out into the Atlantic between Sheephaven Bay and Mulroy Bay and offers some of the most spectacular scenery in all of Ireland.
Glen is ideally positioned to take advantage of the many and varied activities on offer locally including
- championship golf links (Rosapenna, Portsalon, Dunfanaghy);
- water activities such as sailing, windsurfing and scuba diving;
- outdoor pursuits such as hill walking and pony trekking;
- historic monuments and heritage centres,
.....not to mention the host of bars, restaurants, tea rooms, craft and gift shops.
We strongly recommend a visit to Mary's Pub and Restaurant in Glen as a wonderful starting point, where Thomas and Maretta will make you feel at home.
Whatever your choice of activity staying at Irish Cottages Donegal can offer you a wonderful and memorable holiday.
