Craigavon is an urban
area in County Armagh that was designated as a new town in 1965
Located On the southern shores of Lough Neagh, Craigavon offers
visitors a blend of town and country landscapes. Locally Craigavon
refers to the residential area between the historic towns of Lurgan
and Portadown as well as many charming villages. It is an ideal
place for blending shopping with some sporting activities!
There's something for everyone in Craigavon Borough, from world
famous potteries offering masterclasses in making hand thrown
pottery to wonderful animal farms and fascinating museums, country
parks and atmospheric islands to children's play centres.
The Craigavon Golf Ski Centre is situated in beautiful wooded
surroundings and is Northern's Ireland's only outdoor artificial ski
slope. The 300ft main slope, nursery slope and snow tubing
facilities ensure the whole family is catered for. The three golf
courses in the centre are set in mature parkland and offer many
challenges. In addition there is a floodlit driving range and two
putting greens
Craigavon Watersports Centre is one of the best centres in Northern
Ireland for outdoor pursuits. The centre is situated in attractive
parkland on the edge of the Craigavon lakes. There are many water
sports on offer including banana boating, water-skiing, windsurfing,
sailing or canoeing
Craigavon Museum is located on the edge of Lough Neagh, at Oxford
Island, has an excellent collection of Quaker and Methodist
literature plus a large number of local interest books. |
