In the stunning Roe
Valley, close to the North coast, is the busy market town of
Limavady. Dominated by the imposing edifice of Benevenagh as a
backdrop, the town is the administrative centre of Limavady Borough.
Limavady boasts a collection of unusual and independent shops, many
still owned by local families, and hosting a great sense of pride in
the town. Visitors have a wide range of restaurants and cafes to
choose from and can explore the wide range of crafts and gifts
stocked in the local shops. Roe Valley Country Park offers access to
the spectacular countryside surrounding the town.
The town also has a large recreation centre, which consists of 25m
swimming pool, children's splash pool, hi-tech gym, competition
squash courts and luxurious health suite. Significant landmarks in
the town include the Alexander Memorial Town Hall, the site where
Jane Ross noted down the tune of Danny Boy and statue of William
Massey, previous prime-minister of New Zealand. A sculpture
commemorating Jane Ross has been installed on Catherine Street.
Establishing European links through twinning, Limavady has stretched
the hand of friendship to Vigneux, a suburb of Paris and to Westport

Limavady Guinness Jazz and Blues Festival and Roe Valley Folk
