Three miles from
Carrigart is Downings, a lovely resort that has superb views of the
Ards Peninsula and a good sandy beach. Downings is on the Rosguill
Peninsula and is renowned for the spectacular Atlantic Drive touring
route. Na Dúnaibh is also one of the centres of learning for adult
students of Irish. The hand-woven tweed for which Donegal is famous
may be seen by visitors at McNutts. Downings, the peninsula's main
fishing village is situated on a lovely crescent-shaped beach. This
Blue Flag beach is ideal for children and it's waters are favoured
by water sport enthusiasts. Boats are available for hire at the
