Located on the
picturesque Lough Swilly, Fahan is a quiet and tranquil village. It
takes its name from St Mura who was the first abbot of a Columban
foundation there. St Mura's is a superbly decorated 7th century
cross slab lying at the monastery site. Buncrana, 4 miles to the
north along the coast, is the main town in Inishowen and has many
fine pubs and restaurants.
