The town once once
had a bakery, and now contains a post-office, a supermarket, a
veterinary practice, 4 pubs, one national school and two
second-level schools, as well as an adult education centre. Milford
also has a health centre, library with council offices and a fire
station. The town has a four star hotel on the outskirts and is
within close driving distances to four different beaches; Portsalon,
Rathmullan, Downings and Tramore. The Donegal international rally is
based around this area in June. For the golf enthusiast, the links
courses at Portsalon and Rosapenna are among the finest in the
country. Just outside the village is one of Donegal's finest trout
waters, Lough Fern. For the sea angler, boat hire and regular
arranged fishing trips are available at Rathmullan and Downings. |
