Portnoo is as good a
place as any to take the sea air, with the Atlantic rolling in
towards the sandy beach which stretches to the east past Narin.
Although the village faces north into the Atlantic the hills to the
west on Dunmore Head offer very welcome protection. Narin and
Portnoo Golf Club was opened in 1930 and is engagingly old fashioned
with a meandering routing over and around the dunes. The course has
recently been re-developed and the new par 73 layout offers a range
of teeing areas and challenges to suit all golfers. Portnoo has a
Blue Flag approved beach which is ideal for families and water sport
enthusiasts alike. |
