Knocknagoshel or
Knocknagashel is an attractive hilltop village in North Kerry. It is
located approximately 3 km west of the N21, 16 km from Castleisland,
10 km from Abbeyfeale and 21km from Listowel
Knocknagoshel hosts festivals throughout the year with the Mindana
Halloween Festival being one of the major ones. Mindana is a local
street theatre group. The Nelius O'Connor Traditional Music Festival
takes place in November each year. Musicians, singers and
storytellers come from all over to take part. The festival is in
honour of a popular accordion player. The annual Pattern Festival,
known locally as "The Pattern" is held on the 15th of August
The Ogham Pottery Studio is located in Knocknagoshel. This pottery
incorporates the Ogham writing of our native ancestors into work.
Individual pieces are a speciality. |
