Cappamore Town is a
small town situated in North East Limerick in the valley where the
Mulcaire river flows. The village is located in the shadow of the
Slieve Felim Hills. It is 22km east of Limerick City and 25 km north
west of Tipperary Town.
Cappamore is the largest town in northeast Limerick and is a
renowned centre for Irish music and dance. The town hosts an annual
Agricultural Show that attracts a large number of visitors in August
each year. There are a number of fine golf courses within 20 minutes
drive of the town including Ballyneety golf club, Castletroy Golf
club and Ballykisteen Golf club.
Cappamore is also a short drive away from Lough Derg. Lough Derg is
the largest of three lakes on the magnificent River Shannon. From
here you can travel north on over 450km of navigable waterways to
savour the peace, fishing, purity, tranquillity, slower pace of life
and friendly people for which this majestic river is world renowned. |
