Dunshaughlin
is a village in south east Co Meath. It is located just 30km from
the centre of Dublin City. The village is named after Saint
Seachnall - a disciple of St. Patrick - who established a church
there in the 5th century.
Dunshauglin is ideally placed for visiting Dublin and touring the
beautiful Boyne Valley with its many historic sites including the
Megalithic Passage Tombs at Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth and the
Battle of the Boyne site.
The Black Bush Golf Club located 2km outside Dunshaughlin was
founded in 1987 and designed by Bobby Browne It is a superb 27-hole
complex and gives the golfer a choice of playing three different
18-holes or 9-holes whichever he or she desires. Each course has its
own charm and character all within this mature Parkland setting.
The course features
tree lined fairways with undulating sand based greens, combine with
lengthy holes and the occasional water hazard, add up to a
challenging round of golf for the keen players but is also a fair
test of golf for the novice. The superb Jack Nicklaus designed
Kileen Castle Golf Cub is just 6km from Dunshaughlin. This was the
venue for the 2011 Solheim Cup. |
