The quaint village of
Moynalty is located in the north-west of County Meath about
7km from the heritage town of Kells. The Owenroe river flows through
the village and the surrounding countryside is characterised by low
rolling hills – drumlins. The village has won the prestigious Tidy
Towns Award on several occasions.
The village is home to the famous Moynalty Steam Threshing Festival
which is held in August each year and features displays of vintage
machinery, demonstrations of steam threshing and other old time
skills. |
