Taghmon is a
small rural village in the south of Co Wexford. It is situated 13km
east of Wexford Town.
The Shelmalier Riding Stables in Trinity near Taghmon is Wexford's
longest established Riding Centre .This AIRE approved equestrian
centre offer a large selection of well-trained horses and ponies,
all with superb temperaments and excellent facilities including both
indoor and outdoor arenas and cross-country and show jumping
courses.
On the banks of the Aughnagroagh river near Taghmon is the ivy-lad
skeletal walls of the once thriving Brownscastle Woollen Mills which
were owned by the Fortune family. The area around the old mills is
now an amenity area and a looped walkway. The area is situated in 24
acres of beautiful woodland owned by Coillte. |
